Lalit Dalmia aspired to be an actor. So instead of joining his family business in clothes, he joined the National School of Drama, the foremost theatre training institution in the country. After winning accolades in the theatre circle, his creative soul set out in search of more and found an extension to his creativity in designing. He completed his formal training from JD Institute of Designing in 2005.
Drawing inspiration from nature, whom Lalit Dalmia considers as the biggest designer, and channeling his inner desire to make fashion and clothing an instrument to bring happiness to the wearer, he set up his label, Lalit Dalmia. Since then he has been churning out couture collections that are gorgeous to look at and comfortable to be in. His wedding collections are centered around his belief, "every bride deserves to look like a princess."
His label is synonymous with opulent, contemporary Indian, and Indo-Western wears. He puts his heart, soul, and skill to create glamorous ensembles with traditional textures, embroideries, and craftsmanship with modern designs. He experiments with unusual fabrics and textures to create his masterpieces.
A sheer realist, enthusiast, and a happy soul who loves to travel socialize, Lalit Dalmia considers himself to be blessed to be in a position where he can be a source of happiness for others through his work. Full of gratitude, Lalit Dalmia believes his life is to, “ Be happy and spread happiness. One has to do their bit to help the others and be a reason for their happiness.”
